Over the last year, four new restaurants have opened in Cambridge, bringing an unexpected and welcome burst of culinary energy to the small town.
● Briggs Bistro, located at 119 W. Exchange St., opened its doors in August and is a coffee shop that offers breakfast and lunch
● El Barrill Mexican Restaurant, at 105 N. Prospect St., launched in June, adding authentic, flavorful Mexican cuisine to Cambridge’s dining scene.
● The Spectrum Pub, located at 117 S East St, celebrated its grand opening in October, welcoming guests daily with a full menu, including child options, salad bar, drinks, and a warm, pub-style gathering space. Weekend and daily specials! Attached to the restaurant is The Hangout Arcade, featuring retro-style games, nostalgia and fun!
● Gary’s Hometown Deli, located at 312 E Court St, which opened in November, has quickly become a neighborhood favorite with its classic deli sandwiches, deli meats and cheese, baked goods, and small-town charm.
“This year has been transformative for Cambridge,” said John Taylor, Economic Development Committee chair for the village. “Having four vibrant new dining options shows how much our community values gathering, good food, and supporting local business.”
These new establishments join a beloved lineup of existing Cambridge eateries:
● The Combine Bar & Grill, long known for its hearty bar fare, welcoming atmosphere, and fun events and activities. Daily specials!
● Charli’s Pizza, a favorite and go-to spot for families and students, featuring pizzas and subs.
● Grandma Julie’s, offering fresh and frozen home-style comfort food, fresh and frozen meats, drinks, desserts, a new special every day, and more.
“It’s remarkable for a town our size to support such a variety of restaurants, from a cozy deli to a full pub and a Mexican kitchen,” said Village President Jason Beam. “Cambridge is eating better than ever, and these businesses are building more than just meals, they’re building community,”
Village officials are urging residents and visitors alike to explore all of these local dining options of Cambridge’s growing food scene as well as other area attractions.
