The Kewanee Boilermakers will hit the road Friday night in a Three Rivers crossover game against the Monmouth-Roseville Titans.

Both teams will be looking to shake off Week 6 losses.  The Boilers are coming off a 37-14 loss to Princeton and the Titans, a 28-13 defeat at the hands of Rockridge.

The two teams have three common opponents. Both teams lost to Princeton and both teams defeated Bureau Valley and Erie-Prophetstown.

The Boilers are playoff eligible at 5-1 (3-1), but are looking to add another win to strengthen their position in post season play. The Titans are still in search of win number five at 3-3 overall and 2-2 in TRAC play.

“We’re ready to get back at it,” said Kewanee Coach Matt Taylor. “This week in practice we worked on cleaning things up. We need to shore up our pass protection, so Brady is more comfortable and can sit in the pocket a bit longer,” added Taylor.

“We’re healthy, though, and we’ll be looking to mix it up, running and throwing. Monmouth-Roseville has a decent sized line and they’ve had a lot of success running the ball,” noted Taylor.

The Titans’ two key running backs are Payton Thompson (75.2 yards/game) and Tyler Finnecum (62.5/game).

Junior quarterback Andrew Myers has a decent passing game. In last week’s loss to Rockridge, Myers was 9-15 for 82 yards. On the season, he’s 25-47 for 379 yards.
