The Boilermaker soccer team hosted Oregon High School Saturday morning and won by a score of 1-0.

Both teams had multiple scoring opportunities in the first half but neither was able to find the back of the net.

Kewanee’s Tyson Currie and Damareon Thomas go after the ball.

The first 30 minutes of the second half was more of the same until with seven minutes remaining in the contest Mikey Bermudez capitalized on a rebound and got the Boilers on the board.

The defense was able to continue to hold off the Oregon attack, securing the Kewanee victory.

The JV squad won 1-0 with a goal from Jackson Price.

The Boilers will face off against Dixon on the road on Oct. 7, with kickoff at 4:30 p.m. and a JV match to follow.
