At halftime of Friday’s game, Riverdale led the Kewanee Boilermakers 39-0.

Things didn’t get much better in the second half, as the Rams finished with a 54-7 win at Kewanee High School Stadium.

The bright spot in the game came with the Boilers trailing 46-0 in the third quarter. Sophomore Ace LaFollette, who had a 94-yard touchdown run in last week’s game against Erie-Prophetstown, ran 61 yards for a touchdown to avoid the shutout.

The Rams, in the first half, wasted little time in putting points on the board. Their first scoring drive took three plays; other first-half possessions led to touchdowns in 6, 2, 12, 2 and 4 plays.

The Boilers lost two fumbles — one on a kickoff at their own 25-yard-line — and had a pass intercepted.

The Rams only passed three times in the game, completing them all.

LaFollette ended with 85 yards rushing on eight carries, and junior Carter Ensley had two runs for 37 yards.

Senior Abram Hicks led the team in tackles with six; LaFollette had five.

Senior Gaege Heinsen led Riverdale with 185 yards on 18 carries. Senior Coen Bickett added 107 yards on 12 carries.
