
A trip to Monmouth was unsuccessful for the Kewanee Boilermakers boys basketball team, as they were defeated 55-48.
The Boilers led by a point after one quarter, but in the second quarter the home team outscored KHS 16-9 to take a halftime lead of 27-21.
Kewanee made it close in the third quarter, which ended with Mon-Rose up 40-38. But the hosts won the final quarter by five points to seal their victory.
Sophomore Chris Crowe led Kewanee with 18 points and Griffin Hicks had 11.
