The Kewanee Boilermakers were in action against the Monmouth-Roseville Titans in Brockman Gym on Tuesday night, and the Boilers lost by a score of 62-52.
Kewanee got on the scoreboard first and got out to an 8-point lead with 2:45 remaining in the first quarter.

But Monmouth Roseville came storming back, hitting three shots from behind the arc, finding success on the defensive, and ultimately taking an 18-15 lead into the second quarter.
The Titans went four for five from behind the arc in the first quarter.

Monmouth took control of the game in the second quarter and expanded their lead to 12, taking a 32-20 lead into the halftime break.
The Boilers found their stride in the third quarter, cutting the deficit down to just five points. Hitting 80 percent of their shots, the Boilers were only down by a score of 42-37.

Both teams were quieter to start the fourth quarter, with the Titans slowly extending their lead. The intensity soon ramped up, and both sides were hitting their shots.
With just over two minutes remaining, Kewanee had cut the deficit to four points. Unfortunately, the Boilermakers went cold in the final two minutes, only getting two more points, and the Titans fought through the full-court press to make layups and seal the game.

The Titans won the rebound battle 27-22, but the Boilers took the turnover battle 11-13. Kewanee had a 60 percent success rate from inside the arc compared to 50 percent from Monmouth Roseville, but the Titans put up 13 more shots, leading them to make four more 2-point buckets.
From 3-point range, the Boilers were 4/20 compared to Monmouth’s 6/15.
