Golf team places second at Sherrard

Kewanee High School’s golf team placed second in a three-team match Thursday at Frye Lake Golf Club near Sherrard.

The Boilers’ team score of 192 beat the host school by four strokes. Mendota won the match with a team score of 177.

Owen Laue led the Boilers with a nine-hole score of 44, followed by Jack Anderson 45, Reid Nichols 49 and Landon Sheets 54.

Geneseo tops tennis team

Kewanee High School’s girls tennis team dropped a match at Geneseo Thursday by a score of 9-0.
