The Kewanee Boilermakers cross country athletes ran at Elmwood and Erie in the last week.

On Saturday at Elmwood, Hunter Vancil was the only varsity men’s runner, finishing in 82nd place in a time of 18:08.

On the girls’ side Jendayia Crowe finished 43rd with another personal best of 20:45. Esmeralda Martinez was the other female finisher crossing at 25:21.

On Tuesday Kewanee ran in the Panther Invite at the Erie Country Club. Vancil medaled for the boys in 12th place running a personal best 17:34; Anthony Padilla also ran his best time, crossing in 20:11.

The newest Boiler, Ryan Conway, finished his first race at 25:48. For the girls Tiffany Helton finished with her season best of 31:00 and Esmeralda Martinez finished her race in 25:43.

Jendayia Crowe continued her incredible improvement, dropping another 25 seconds from her personal best finishing fourth overall in 20:10.

Kewanee competes Monday in the Amboy invitational at Shady Oaks CC in Amboy.
