On Oct. 2, the KHS varsity volleyball team won two sets against Bureau Valley High School, 25-14 and 25-20.
Taylor VanWinkle’s serves were particularly strong, with 10 service points earned throughout the sets.

Along with Kendyl DeBlieck’s five kills and Macee Pickering’s eight assists, these points pushed the Boilers to a decisive victory.
In terms of defense, Pickering stood out with seven digs, with VanWinkle close behind with six digs.

Kewanee’s sophomore team won in two sets, 25- 17 and 25- 13.
Bureau Valley prevailed over the Kewanee’s freshman, 16- 25, 25- 16, 10-15.
The KHS volleyball team will be in action against the Alleman Pioneers on Monday, Oct. 7 in Rock Island.
