Kewanee’s Jack Anderson chips onto the green at Baker Park.

The Kewanee High School boys golf team placed third among three teams at a home golf match Thursday. The girls team was unable to field enough golfers in their match.

At Baker Park, the Kewanee boys totaled 234 strokes. Cambridge won the match with a score of 174, and St. Bede was second at 177.

Owen Laue and Dalton Bender led the Boilers with scores of 55, and Jack Anderson was close behind with 57. The fourth player whose score was counted was Carver Neulieb at 67.

Brandon Boldue of Cambridge was the match’s medalist with a score of 41, followed by Dylan Nimrick at 43 and Matt Maher and Gracie Russell at 45.

The Kewanee girls went against Orion and Rock Island Alleman at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, but had only three team members who competed. They were Eleanor Burkhart, who shot 45; Hope Peed at 48; and Kira Alsup at 62.
