Black Hawk College hosted the 2026 Lincoln Trail Conference Scholastic Bowl Meet on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the college’s East Campus.

The event pitted students from different high schools against each other in a competition to answer questions from a variety of categories such as history, literature, mathematics, music and science.

Twelve high school teams in the Lincoln Trail Conference competed in nine, 45-minute rounds.

The top 10 individual scorers were:

● 1st – Logan Washburn, ROWVA High School
● 2nd – Gus Anderson, Bureau Valley High School
● 3rd – Kendrick Haywood, Abingdon-Avon High School
● 4th – Andy Zueger, Bureau Valley High School
● 5th – Reiley Burns, Monmouth United High School
● 6th – Tyler Graham, Wethersfield High School
● 7th – Drew Sherbyn, Annawan High School
● 8th – Miles Weid, Annawan High School
● 9th – Ryan Butterfield, Princeville High School
● 10th – Jackson Nanninga, Annawan High School and Brielle Jeffrey, Galva High School – two-way tie

The top 4 teams were:

● 1st – ROWVA
● 2nd – Bureau Valley
● 3rd – West Central
● 4th – Annawan

Other participating schools were Abingdon-Avon, AlWood, Cambridge, Galva, Knoxville, Monmouth United, Princeville and Wethersfield.

BHC faculty members Georgjean Pitsoulakis and Andrew Mansheim organized and planned the event.
