First Place winning team Team 2 from Sherrard High School.

Black Hawk College recently hosted the 7th Annual T-Joint Fillet Weld Invitational at the college’s Welding and Skilled Trades Center in downtown Kewanee.

Second place also went to a Sherrard High School team 1.

The goal is to provide a competitive welding contest in a state-of-the-art welding facility that gives high school students an opportunity to test their skills. A total of 37 students from five high schools registered for the competition.

Third place winners Team 1 of Kewanee High School.

For the fourth consecutive year, a team from Sherrard High School won the competition.
