Painting, tie dyeing, slime making, and an extremely messy shaving cream war were just a few of the activities kids recently enjoyed at the Kids Craft Camp at the Black Hawk College Community Education Center in Kewanee.

The four-day camp for kids ages 6-11 was packed with fun and creative activities including:
Tie-Dye Extravaganza
The camp kicked off with a tie-dye session where kids got to design their own vibrant shirts in a kaleidoscope of colors.
Slimy Science
The slime-making workshop combined science and fun as kids created gooey, stretchy slime in a variety of colors and textures.

Shaving Cream War
The highlight for many of the kids was the shaving cream war. Armed with cans of shaving cream, they engaged in a friendly outdoor battle that left everyone covered in white fluff.
Slip-and-slide and snow cones
The kids cooled off on a slip-and-slide then enjoyed snow cones as a refreshing end to their day.

“The camp allowed kids to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and form new friendships,” said Valerie Painter, coordinator of the Community Education Center. “We look forward to offering it again next summer.”
Black Hawk College also has several classes for adults coming up this fall at the Community Education Center.
