Barash & Everett, LLC announced this week that attorney Paul L Mangieri has become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and managing partner of the firm. Mangieri’s selection follows the departure of attorney Justin Raver who left to assume the position of Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of Illinois, Bankruptcy Division.
Mangieri, a 1984 graduate of St. Louis University School of Law, began his legal career with the U.S. Navy proudly serving his country as a JAG Corps officer. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Mangieri joined the firm of Barash, Stoerzbach & Henson where he practiced law from 1988 to 1996.
In 1996, Mangieri was elected Knox County State’s Attorney and served two and half terms until his appointment by the Illinois Supreme Court as a circuit court judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in 2007. Mangieri served as a judge until his retirement from the judiciary in 2019. Two years later, Mangieri returned to the private practice of law joining Barash & Everett.
Reynolds “Rip” Everett, senior partner at Barash & Everett said, “Justin Raver served admirably as managing partner for the firm for many years and we wish him the best in his new endeavor.” “But I am equally excited at Paul’s selection as managing partner and CEO, as Paul possesses such unique leadership skills that I have not before ever seen. The future of this firm is assured with Paul and I could not be happier.”
Mangieri said it’s an honor and a privilege to have been selected for this position.
“This firm was founded by Barry Barash and Rip Everett in 2001, but in many ways, it can trace its origins back to Barry’s father Burrel Barash, who began his practice in Galesburg, in 1929 and Rip’s father Reynolds Everett, Sr., who started his practice in Galva in 1930,” Mangieri said. “I will do all within my power to continue to maintain and expand upon Barash and Everett’s land standing reputation for being the number one law firm in West Central Illinois, with big firm resources but small firm personal service.”
With seven attorneys and offices in Galesburg, Galva and Kewanee, Barash & Everett provides legal services in the areas of agricultural business law, estate planning, real estate and title insurance, personal injury and workers’ compensation claims, corporate and business law, municipal/governmental law and family law.
