The Annawan Bravettes made their presence known Tuesday in Peru at the Lady Bruin Christmas Classic after handily beating the Sandwich Indians, 65-25. 

Annawan jumped out to a 23-5 first quarter lead and the Bravettes held the Indians to just nine first half points (44-9). 

Clara Bella VanOpdorp led Annawan with 11 first half points. Kaylee Celus scored eight points in the game (all in the second quarter). Olivia Goodley also scored eight first half points for the Bravettes. 

Things cooled off a bit in the second half as Annawan outscored Sandwich 21-16, but the Bravettes held an insurmountable 56-13 lead after three quarters of play. 

Sandwich outscored Annawan 12-9 in the fourth quarter and Kayden Cornelius scored 10 of 12 fourth quarter points for the Indians. 

VanOpdorp scored a game-high 15 points for the Bravettes. Goodley had 13, Zoey Vance added nine and Celus scored eight in the win. 

The Bravettes move to 12-3 on the season and the Indians fall to 4-12. 

Annawan continues tourney play Wednesday at 1 p.m. against Newark (4-7) and at 5:30 p.m. against host St. Bede (11-5).
