

The Kewanee Elks #724 announced its selection of Kennady Anderson and Cohen Newman as the March “Teens of the Month.”
Anderson is the daughter of Chad and Amber Anderson. A senior at Wethersfield High, Anderson has a GPA of 5.04/5.0 scale, with a class rank of 8 of 38.

Her four-year achievements are High Honor Roll, All-Conference Academic basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, Key Club, FCA, FFA, student council and 4-H. She has a three-year achievement as co-captain of basketball, with a two- year achievement in National Honor Society. Her one- year achievements include Academic All-State Team, class president, NHS historian, Key Club editor, Key Club vice-president, FFA Sentinel, track and cross country co-captain.
Her athletic awards are AP All-State Honorable Mention, Distance MVP, IHSA All-State, with school records in 800m, 1600m, 3200m, LTC Champion. She is also on the yearbook staff.
Her community service includes volunteering for FFA programs, Key Club programs and being a Christian Care volunteer.
Newman is the son of Ben and Kathryn Newman. He is a senior at Wethersfield High School and his class rank is 18 of 39 with a GPA 4.75/5.0 scale.
His four-year achievements are High Honor Roll and football. He has two-year achievements in All-Conference Academic football, Key Club, band, jazz band, concert band, pep band and Key Club. He has one-year achievements in National Honor Society, All-Conference Academic track and yearbook staff.
His community service includes volunteering for the school’s canned food drive, MS Camp, Future Titans Football Camp and the school blood drive.
