Kewanee High School is gearing up for a magical homecoming week as we speak. 

The homecoming theme this year is “Most Magical Homecoming.” The entire week is designed to pump up students with various dress-up days and after-school activities. 

KHS students decorated their lockers with crepe paper in the school colors.

The week will conclude with the Boilermaker football team hosting the Sherrard Tigers at 7 p.m. in the KHS Football Stadium, followed by the homecoming dance on Saturday in Brockman Gym, 8-11 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Here are this week’s homecoming dress-up days for KHS:

Monday: Sleeping Beauty (dress-up in pajamas)

Tuesday: Student/teacher swap day

Wednesday: Disney duo day (dress as an iconic Disney duo or as twins)

Thursday: Class color day! (Senior: black, Juniors: white, Sophomores: blue, and Freshman: orange)

Friday: Boiler Pride!

And here are the activities and games happening this week:

Monday:

Home fresh/soph football game vs Mendota, 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday:

Home volleyball game vs Princeton, 5 p.m.

Also, on Tuesday students are having a Reverse Powderpuff Game, also known as boys volleyball, at 7 p.m. in Brockman Gym

Wednesday:

Home soccer game vs. St. Bede, 4:30 p.m.

Home tennis game vs Streator, 4:30 p.m.

Also on Wednesday juniors and seniors have the opportunity to participate in a Powderpuff game at 4:30 p.m. This game will be located at the Central Field. 

Thursday:

The spirits are going to be blazing with the Homecoming bonfire,7:30

Friday: 

The homecoming assembly in the morning

The homecoming parade, 2:15 p.m.

Attendant announcements, 6:15 p.m.

Saturday:

Tennis invitational at Mendota High School, 8 a.m.

Volleyball invitational at Sherrard High School,åå 8 a.m.

Homecoming dance in Brockman Gym at KHS from 8-11 p.m.
