Local 4-H participants embrace the “learn by doing” philosophy, and the Henry County Fair will provide them with an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they’ve acquired during their time in 4-H.
General projects will be judged on Saturday, prior to the fair’s opening. These projects span over 150 different areas, including sewing, cooking, horticulture, drones, woodworking, civics, rock collecting, rockets, visual arts, and more.
Throughout the fair week, the projects will be on display in the Art Hall building on the fairgrounds.
Also Saturday, the 4-H Dog Show will take place at 2 p.m.
The fair opens to the public on Tuesday, June 18 and runs through Sunday, June 23.
4-H youth who raise beef, swine, sheep, goats, dairy, and poultry for their annual projects will have shows the public can attend.
The Henry County 4-H also operates a food stand, offering lemonade shakes, hamburgers, ribeye sandwiches, chips, candy, soda, and other items. Proceeds from the food stand support local 4-H clubs.
